The Firm
My favorite part of working in a law firm is something that you might not expect.
I love doing client intakes.
Oftentimes, when potential clients call in they are frustrated and scared. They don’t know what is going to happen next, and this stresses them out. A lot of the time, potential clients will call in and during the intake process, vent about their situation. But I love being on the other end of this phone call! I love letting people talk about their problems and reassuring them that we will do our best to help them through this situation. Providing peace of mind is powerful, and I love getting to do that for our clients.
I have been interested in law for a while now. During my time at the University of New Haven, I decided to major in Legal Studies and minor in Criminal Justice. I also became a certified paralegal, with the hopes of one day becoming a paralegal.
During my senior year in college, I got an internship with Ruane Attorneys. When it was time for me to graduate, I reached out to Ruane Attorneys and was fortunate enough to be offered a full time paralegal position. The day after I graduated from college, on May 16th, 2016, I went to work for Ruane Attorneys.
I think it’s important to be driven and ambitious instead of waiting for things to happen you need to go out and make them happen. That is what I have tried to do in both my professional and personal life. It is why I pursued a job with Ruane Attorneys, why I am a second degree black belt, and why I find the motivation to go to the gym 5 days a week.
I became a paralegal because I’ve always had an interest in the law and criminal justice. I think it’s important to love what you do because you will put forth a different kind of attention and effort into the work that you do because it matters to you. I love my job as a paralegal. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, playing with my dog, and going to the gym.
