I always knew that I wanted to be involved in law because my mother worked in a law firm my entire life. However, I never knew what aspect of the law I would pursue as a career. I studied political science in Washington, D.C. during my undergraduate career, but quickly realized that being a politician was not in the cards for me. I am a huge sports fan so I thought going into sports law would be the right avenue for me.
Finding My Way
In law school I tried several different classes and electives to try to narrow down what I was passionate for. During my 3L, I had the privilege of being a member of the Prosecutor’s Clinic where I was a student prosecutor at the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office at the Dedham Court in Massachusetts. This experience really ignited something inside of me that drew me toward criminal law.
After graduating from Suffolk Law, I moved to Connecticut and was so lucky to begin working for Ruane Attorneys. Working on the defense side has provided me a new level of understanding with our clients and those charged with a crime in criminal court. Clients are often quickly judged or assumed guilty, though they have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
Our clients have every right to be heard and fought for and that is my goal with every single client. I have been so fortunate to learn from such amazing partners and fellow associates as I began my career and continue to grow every day.
In my free time, I love to run road races and hope to run a marathon in the near future. I also love playing with our new dog, Mac!
